In these vibrant sessions, the High Rise Visual Arts Group explore a variety of art forms, creating wonderful pieces of work for exhibition.
The sessions work by taking a theme, and working collaboratively on producing a visual outcome. In addition, sensory storytelling on the same theme is used to close each session, giving a sense of routine to the group.
We offer practical art techniques for those who demonstrate a developing capacity to handle tools and materials with minimal support. Participants work on large scale works, aiming to improve their communication, decision making skills, creative ability and fine motor skills.
The Visual Arts Group is a great way to socialise and make new friends; participation is as much or as little as personal choice desires. Finished work is often used for public exhibitions, and we arrange visits to places of interest around Leeds during each term to inspire the group’s work.
